Jack Draper Into First Grand Slam Semi With Us Open Win Over Alex De Minaur

Jack Draper reaches first Grand Slam semi-final with US Open win over Alex de Minaur

British star Jack Draper has reached his first Grand Slam semi-final after a stunning victory over Australia's Alex de Minaur at the US Open.

The 20-year-old Draper, who is ranked 55th in the world, produced a brilliant performance to defeat the 22nd-ranked de Minaur 6-1, 6-2, 6-4 in just one hour and 50 minutes.

Draper is now the youngest British man to reach a Grand Slam semi-final since Andy Murray in 2013.

He will face either Russian Karen Khachanov or Spanish teenager Carlos Alcaraz in the semi-finals on Friday.

Draper has been in impressive form throughout the US Open, having already defeated former world number one Novak Djokovic in the first round.

He is now the first British man to reach the semi-finals of the US Open since Andy Roddick in 2003.

Draper's victory is a major breakthrough for British tennis and will see him rise significantly in the world rankings.

He is now likely to be seeded for the Australian Open in January, which will give him a better chance of making a deep run in that tournament.

Draper's success is also a testament to the strength of British tennis at the moment, with Emma Raducanu having won the US Open last year and Cameron Norrie having reached the semi-finals of Wimbledon this year.

The future of British tennis looks very bright.
