Djokovic and Nadal to Clash in Blockbuster Olympic Semifinal
Rivals to Meet in Epic Rematch
Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, two of the greatest tennis players of all time, will face off in a blockbuster semifinal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The match will be a rematch of their thrilling quarterfinal at the 2021 French Open, which Djokovic won in four sets.
Nadal, a two-time Olympic champion, advanced to the semifinals with a straight-sets victory over Marton Fucsovics of Hungary. Djokovic, a 2008 Olympic bronze medalist, received a walkover into the semifinals after his quarterfinal opponent, Andrey Rublev of Russia, withdrew due to injury.
Nadal vs. Djokovic: A Rivalry for the Ages
The Nadal-Djokovic rivalry is one of the most storied in tennis history. The two players have met 59 times, with Djokovic holding a slim 30-29 advantage. They have faced each other in four Grand Slam finals, with Nadal winning three of them.
The Paris Olympics semifinal will be the first meeting between Nadal and Djokovic since the 2023 Australian Open final, which Djokovic won in straight sets. Nadal will be looking to avenge that defeat and reach his third Olympic final.
