The 1981 Belgian Grand Prix was the fifth race of the 1981 Formula One World Championship. The race was held at the Zolder circuit in Belgium on May 17, 1981. Carlos Reutemann of Williams won the race after the leading Brabham of Nelson Piquet retired due to a mechanical failure. Alan Jones of Williams finished second, and Jacques Laffite of Ligier finished third.
The race started in dry conditions, but rain began to fall on lap 55. The track conditions quickly became treacherous, and several cars crashed. The race was eventually stopped on lap 67 due to the heavy rain. Reutemann was declared the winner, with Jones and Laffite finishing second and third respectively.
