Oilers Edge Stars in Thrilling Overtime Victory

In a thrilling Game 4 of the Western Conference Final of the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Edmonton Oilers triumphed over the Dallas Stars in overtime by a score of 2-1. Mattias Janmark and Leon Draisaitl scored goals within a minute of each other, and Connor McDavid tallied three assists, leading the Oilers to victory.
The first period was a back-and-forth affair, with both teams registering several shots on goal. However, neither team was able to break the deadlock. In the second period, Janmark opened the scoring for the Oilers with a power-play goal, assisted by Draisaitl and McDavid. Draisaitl then extended the lead to 2-0 just 52 seconds later with a goal assisted by Tyson Barrie and Zach Hyman.
The Stars fought back in the third period, with Jamie Benn scoring a goal to cut the deficit to 2-1. The Stars continued to pressure the Oilers, but they were unable to find the equalizer. In overtime, McDavid set up Evan Bouchard for a shot that was saved by Stars goalie Jake Oettinger, but Janmark was there to clean up the rebound and score the game-winning goal.
McDavid was a force throughout the game, creating scoring chances for his teammates and leading the Oilers' offense. He now has 11 points in four games this series.
